Michael Paulus' Cartoon Anatomy

4AqIRP6U.jpg

Each piece is 7.5" high by 10" wide, mixed media on high-grade plywood panel and covered with a thick, glossy, durable epoxy coating to give an enameled appearance and ready to hang. The wood grain of the birch beneath the images is meant to come through the parchment-like paper somewhat. You can order one or more.

How wonderful are these!?  Michael Paulus created these character studies, which consist of 22 past and present cartoon characters. Growing up in the 60's surrounded by these animated cartoon images, Michael became intrigued by the distorted bodies and forms these cartoon characters possessed. This inspired him to look within these character's strange bodies and dissect them as if they were real living objects and fully render their skeletal structures.  I really love Betty Boop and her skeletal pose!
