The Thoughts + Process of Fernando Vicente

This is a beautifully produced video by ROADs Publishing on Spanish artist, Fernando Vicente. The video features Fernando in his studio working on one of his gorgeous anatomical paintings. It comes with the release of his new book, simply titled, "Fernando Vicente." The book features a comprehensive collection (165 pages worth) of paintings from his Anatomias, Atlas, Vanitas, and Venus series. 

In the video, Fernando explains the motivation behind his work, "Although beauty is sublime, it often arises as a contrast with the harsh realities of the viscera inside our bodies. Without this beauty, I think that my work would be bordering on gore and that is not my intention, because paradoxically I believe that there is beauty inside the human body, which is not the case for most people."
