Fernanda Uribe - Organ Embrace

Mexican artist Fernanda Uribe created this series of beautifully delicate anatomical paintings titled Abrazos/Dasein. Abrazos meaning hugs in Spanish and Dasein meaning existence in German.Fernanda explains the meaning,

:Through the deconstruction of the self the viewer becomes aware of its interminable layers, its manifestation of existence and temporality.Our body is constructed in such a way that each organ embraces the other. The heart is surrounded by the lungs which are themselves protected by the ribs and finally by the skin. It is as if our body structure was constructed with the idea of a ceaseless hug."
