Max Boufathal’s Fighting Solar Brothers

Paris-based artist Max Boufathal created these shimmering warriors out of plastic bags, steel, plaster and wax. The set of three sculptures are named after the music icons, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye and James Brown. I love the way he was able to form the plastic bags into muscles, turning something seemingly light and delicate into a forceful presence.
