Detroit in Ruins by Yves Marchand & Romain Meffre

Detroit in Ruins by Yves MarchandI know this series of photographs by Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre have been around for a while, but this is the first time I've seen this one! This image is of the abandoned biology classroom at George W Ferris School in the Detroit suburb of Highland Park. The whole series of images is simply beautiful. Among the other abandoned building are the police station, train station, public library, churches, and theaters. It's both sad and fascinating to see these wonderful spaces go to ruin, what's left behind and how quickly they can fall apart without maintenance. This totally reminds me of that Will Smith movie, I Am Legend, sans plagued monsters of course.[via guardian.co.uk]
