Who knew a retinal detachment could create such great art!  After going nearly blind a couple years ago, Jamie Gaul was inspired to utilize anatomy in her work.  She became interested in the symbolic and functional meanings behind human anatomy, as well as their shapes and forms.

"I can only say that after a certain point at looking at these hearts they began to look like deflated balloons and hearts are Heavier Than balloons."
