Montreal-based architect, Federico Carbajal creates anatomical architectures out of galvanized wire, stainless steel and acrylic through what he calls spatial sketching.

Federico describes his work,

With the influence of the old masters and the early works of Alexander Calder, to current digital 3D media and architectural representation, these tridimensional hybrids bring together drawing, architecture and sculpture in order to create a coherent spatial entity.

Spatial sketching allows for the possibility of new representations of images in space, exploring the void and the dematerialization of volume.  The physical and metaphysical presence of the human body emanate through a combination of transparent planes and spatial lines.

Love the entire concept and execution. View more of Federico’s work on his portfolio site!

Evi Numen

Evi Numen Valentine

This piece, titled Valentine, was created by visual artist Evi Numen who “draws inspiration from medicine and psychiatry as well as painting and film.”  Evi also happens to work full time at one of my favorite museums in the world, The Mütter Museum.  How cool is that!

Flower Pump

I’m a flower person. Love them everywhere. It’s really sad that I live in a tiny studio apartment with 3 huge windows that face a wall.  To solve this, I buy cut flowers quite frequently. I have a vases in a variety of sizes. This is one I would want to add to the collection.

Designed by 3D company Veneridesign, this beautiful white vase is based on one of their many 3D renderings. I can’t find much info on the piece, even on the company website. It’s only description is

Flower Pump is inspired by the muscle of love,
…every artery leads straight to the heart ….

That’s good enough for me. Available for purchase by Shapeways for $457, this is 3D printing done right.

I have never wanted a tattoo until this very moment.  These are just a few of the many gorgeous tattoos by São Paulo-based artist Gregorio Marangoni.  His style is so detailed and I love the tone he achieves with what looks like stippling on skin. The work speaks for itself and I urge you to take a look through all the tattoos on his site, blog.gregoriomarangoni.com!
