The Doll You Love to Undress

The doll you love to undress by Zbigniew Libera

You might know Zbigniew Libera better for the controversial LEGO concentration camp piece he designed back in 1996, but this piece, titled “The doll you love to undress” (1997) doesn’t quite pack as much of a punch.  Maybe because the splayed stomachs of these little blue-eyed dolls don’t seem out of the ordinary on a blog like Street Anatomy…

Esque

Esque

Glass Company Esque has some pretty talented employees.  The Heart Vase we’ve seen before on Street Anatomy is amazing, but these above are just as striking.  The Eye and Skull can be purchased here. So cool!

SYNOPSIS: Another person is shot and can only survive as a head and a body who exist independently from one another. The forgetful body desperately collects souvenirs, while the head is lost in a series of illusions. Actions contradict thoughts as the two take divergent paths. It is only through destruction that the two find a means for reunification.

One of the most beautifully done, original, and creatively complex animations I’ve seen in a while.  You’ll be captivated from the beginning, I promise.

These are too beautiful to eat that’s for sure!  Stephen J Shanabrook is a very conceptual artist with a wide range of work that can be read more about here.  His collection above, called Morgue Chocolates, consists of different casts of  body parts that all look so real it’s scary. Perfect for your special Valentine!
