Was it really that dramatic? I’ve heard all that stuff about how it changed their organs and bones was an exaggeration. But still, wow! And cool image.
Corseting definitely wasn’t healthy since it restricted breathing but there was a lot of exaggerating of the effects at the time by those trying to convince ladies not to wear the more extreme corsets.

Corsets are still hot. They don’t have to be restricting. Larger ladies will probably benefit the most because they have something to work with (boobs).
