I recently began to learn how to surf after I had a horrific tragedy in my life. Surfing is so internal and healing. Kelly Slater has been my favorite surfer as far as his technique, style and his heart. The fact that he gets involved in causes, for example skin cancer, shows more of his heart. It's not so easy when you put yourself out there on different opinions or causes and I admire that in him. I am buying my first board and really want it to mean something specific.
