The opening of the first ever Street Anatomy gallery show was a complete success with hundreds of people flowing through the gallery and a quarter of the art sold in the first night.  People thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were able to not only look at the art in the Street Anatomy show, but also explore the International Museum of Surgical Science, while sipping beer and wine, eating, and listening to our fantastic DJ, Katie Kirby.

I want to thank my wonderful team that helped me put this show together, Jenny Drucker, Heather Tompkins, Colleen Stockmann, Jennifer von Glahn, Colette Shrader, Lindsey Thieman, the International Museum of Surgical Science and of course my mom, Raquel Ruiz!

For those of you who weren’t able to come out for the show, this is just the first out of more Street Anatomy shows to come in the future!

The Street Anatomy group gallery show will be on display until November 19th.

Thanks for posting the photos – I wish I could have been there. It looks like it was a great success. I’m thrilled to see medical illustration’s increased appearance outside of the BVIS studio and into the mainstream. I hope to make it to the next show – great job!!

Another venue that might be interested in showing/selling some of pieces of art would be the bar SWIG in Wicker Park. They had some similar artwork displayed when I went there with Rachel, Jen and Colette a few years ago. Hopefully it is still there.
