Desires and Paranoia

Philip Toledano’s Hope and Fear series is beautiful to look at and yet slightly uncomfortable at the same time. He says that,
Hope and fear is the external manifestation of the internal desires and paranoia that are adrift in America.
I think that the simplicity and focus of each picture succeeds in representing the insecurities and neuroses present in all of us.
Philip’s portfolio website is beautifully designed—definitely worth a look.

Certainly disturbing, but stunningly provocative. Not to give too much away, but I easily identify with the second image – the “man of ears.”
