Street Anatomy optimized for the iPhone and iPod Touch

Thanks to the iWPhone WordPress plugin from Content Robot, you can now view an optimized version of Street Anatomy on your iPhone or iPod Touch. It is formatted perfectly to fit the iPhone/iPod Touch’s 320 x 480 screen, so there’s no need to zoom in to read content. Just type in streetanatomy.com into the iPhone/iPod Touch’s safari browser and it will automatically reformat the blog to fit the screen. Have a go!

Um, thanks, but the big feature with the iPhone is that it can show the real website, and then allow you to zoom in, pan around, and otherwise manipulate the image so that you can see the site the way it was meant to be. Sure, these special designs make the site load faster, but they generally lose much of the content as well as the aesthetics. I’m all for having the option of having a faster loading page, but it would be nice if I was the one making the choice, not the sites I visit.
Claire – the developers of this plugin are currently working on a way to give the viewer the choice of using the optimized version or viewing the original page. I completely agree that you should have a choice. But if you want to appreciate aesthetics, you should be viewing sites on a screen bigger than 320 x 480px anyway.
